Konkori Atwina Bosomtwe, Ghana

Formerly known as the "Gold Coast", the Republic of Ghana covers 92,100 square miles and is located in the western part of Africa.

It shares borders with Togo, Burkina Faso and the Ivory Coast and has a population of about 18 million people. It is slightly smaller than the state of Oregon. The terrain is mostly low plains with dissected plateau in the south central area. The climate is mostly tropical; warm and comparatively dry along the southeast coast; hot and humid in the southwest; hot and dry in the north.

The present spiritual upsurge in Ghana is in answer to prayer and sacrificial service. Numerous evangelical, charismatic and Pentecostal groups and fellowships have sprung up all over the south. In some of these denominations there has been rapid growth creating a great need for church buildings.

The Pentecostal Church in Konkori is a new work that began in 2002 with forty believers. The brethren were full of the zeal of the Lord and began having home cell evangelization groups. At the end of the 2nd quarter 88 souls had been won to Christ. The strategy is to cater to all manner of people in the area, and 3 separate prayer meetings per day was organized which yielded fruitful results. The church has increased its membership to 170.

In July 2003, by faith they began to construct a new church building which measures 55' x 100' which provides room for growth. The church has started three branch ministries in the surrounding areas.

This dedicated group of believers has been faithful to God's call, and they are trusting Him for the finances to roof and complete their new place of worship.
